Reflection - 2026 School Year
Throughout this year, I’ve been challenged artistically in ways I never had before. At first with graphite and silver point, I learned shading in a completely different way, having to set my original way of shading on the back burner in order to harness renaissance masters’ artist marks instead. This process really helped me gain confidence both in my craft and creativity with the graphite medium, which I’d like to continue using in future work. The most challenging aspect of

Still Life - Final
Although I often felt completely thrown with this project, I am not disappointed with the result. I definitely feel as though there is quite a bit of space to improve in the future, though I am more confident I can learn and grow, and this was a good starting place from which to do just that. Oil painting has been quite the trip out of my comfort zone, but I can safely say I've enjoyed the experience.

Still Life - Glazing
This was the first layer of glazing on my still life. I tried to keep it thin, though I don't think I added enough fat to the paint before applying it onto the canvas. The coloring wasn't too bad either, and I felt as though I matched everything pretty well.

Still Life - Grisaille
The grisaille was definitely more of a challenge for me as the shadows were different in the natural light every day, but I felt I captured the highlights and shadows pretty well overall. Quite a ways to go.

Still Life - Planning
I started off planning for my still life with the intention of combining different object that represent me with the theme of pressure. This was the composition I came up with to align with that theme, and to the right is the first drawing I did on the canvas.

Self-Portrait Sculpture
This self-portrait sculpture was really my first time ever using clay as a medium to capture emotion or any realistic nature, though overall I'm happy with the result. I had a lot of trouble finding synchrony with all of my facial features, but I do feel as though the sculpture depicts my face mostly realistically.

Self-Portrait Reflection
My self-portrait drawing was definitely my largest, but most rewarding drawing. I was much happier with this version of my Bronzino artist copy adventures both because I was able to put my own spin on it and I felt it actually represented me. The goal here was to capture a reflection of myself in my truest form, and what better way to do that than through laughter. Overall, I'm quite happy with how everything turned out, though I do feel I could improve on working with the gr

Artist Copy Process
In my efforts to recreate a figure first drawn by Bronzino, I faced a lot of trouble finding the right artist mark. Bronzino is known for his use of silver point in the creation of his very fine, very detailed drawing, though the paper he used had a much greater amount of toll, and his lines looked much thicker than mine. I experienced a lot of difficulty in finding the right medium, trying to let the lines remain light but also wanting to find a way to copy the thickness of
